With the arrival of the heat we have to put attention on the so called “ heatstroke” which affects our pets if they stay under the sun too long, both directly and in a very hot space without a correct airy. The animal will start to hyperventilate with opened mouth and extended tongue trying to make temperature lower (I remind that our friends can’t sweat like we do) until the collapse or death if he is not rescued in time.
My suggestion is never to constraint the pet in a place without a minimum shadow or windy area. Avoid absolutely to leave them closed in the car, even if not under direct sun: the temperature of the cabin will tend to increase very fast and the animal will risk death very easily. This is also valid for the ones are in enclosures, on chains or obliged to stay on balconies for a long time.
Leave the always water at disposal, not only to drink but also to refresh if they need. Then if our friends have the chance to have an outdoor doghouse, choose better the ones which can be airy, for example with a roof that can be opened and also raised form the floor so that there can be circulation of air.
